Effervescent colours, iridescent textures and intricate, embroidered details are married in ZuZa artful designs, which you can now feel and experience for yourself in a dedicated space exclusively at Robinsons The Heeren in Singapore.
The ZuZa Fashion Spring/Summer 2015 Collection spotlights 26 stunning designs that ooze a luxurious, sophisticated flair, while showcasing Sukanya’s well-trained eye for creating impressive, ornate fashion masterpieces without going over the top.
The result is a collection of sensual yet elegant pieces that balances intricate detail with bold, yet understated colours across a palette of bronze, lilac and midnight blue on top of wardrobe staples such as black, white and red.
Heavy but masterful use of lace lends a sophisticated air to her designs, which, of course, is purely intentional, as Sukanya, ZuZa designer and founder, shares that she has a natural affinity with the sensual material. Lace, she says, embodies the beauty of women with its intricate weaves, unique pattern and strong sense of femininity.
The colourful nature of this collection is largely inspired by Sukanya’s recent trip to Spain for a wedding, which explains the vibrant colours, sensual spirit and passionate fervour the dresses espouse.
A particular red number, embroidered with large red florals, is largely redolent of fiery flamenco dresses, a cultural icon of sorts in Spain.
Despite these strong Spanish influences, however, the Zuza Fashion collection isn’t devoid of Sukanya’s Thai roots. The intricate patterns, vibrant colours and strong sense of passion may be, in part, inspired by Spanish culture, but it is also an innate part of the Thai spirit as well.
Sukanya expertly balances the fiery nature of the Spanish flamenco with a soft Asian touch, resulting in a wonderfully inspired collection of pieces that perfectly melds Spanish influences with her Thai roots – a testament to her talent and creative mind.
